Dear University of the Arts Students & Families:

You got some heartbreaking news over the weekend. We were deeply saddened to hear about the closure of UArts — an institution we greatly admire and the alma mater of several of our dance faculty.

As you plan your next steps, we would love for you to consider joining the Muhlenberg Theatre & Dance community.

We are committed to helping UArts Students find a home for this fall!

  • Were you planning to attend UArts as a first-year student in Fall 2024? We have opened an additional 10 seats in our first-year class specifically for UArts students.
  • The transfer application process is still open, and our Admissions Office team can walk you through the process of transferring credits from UArts to Muhlenberg.
  • Muhlenberg will guarantee Talent Scholarships in dance and theatre, worth $2,000 a year, to students accepted to UArts. That's over and above your need- and merit-based financial aid offer.

Muhlenberg offers world-class studio training
in the context of a first-rate liberal arts education. We offer amazing opportunities to students with a passionate commitment to the performing arts and a wide range of creative and academic interests. We offer a full spectrum of performance and exhibition opportunities in theatre, dance, music, filmmaking, writing and studio art — and we give you the tools to create your own opportunities — here at Muhlenberg and beyond.

Muhlenberg is ideally situated less than an hour-and-a-half from Philly and about two hours from New York City — giving you frequent opportunities to attend shows and work with guest artists from both of those communities.

Our alumni are thriving as actors, dancers, directors, designers, choreographers, producers, stage managers, technicians, educators and arts administrators — on Broadway, in film and TV and in major regional theatre and dance companies around the world. While many pursue the arts professionally, other graduates have pursued successful careers in diverse fields, including medicine, neuroscience, law, publishing, business and education. Our blend of rigorous academic work and spectacular studio training has proven to be excellent preparation for work or graduate study in today's theatre and dance worlds and beyond.

Muhlenberg consistently ranks among the top-rated performing arts programs in the country. The Princeton Review ranked Muhlenberg No. 2 on its Best College Theatre list this year, and the college-ranking company Niche named Muhlenberg No. 4 on its state-wide Best Colleges for Performing Arts listMuhlenberg is also listed among the Princeton Review's Best 389 Colleges — the top 15 percent.
