The Class of 2024 took part in many Muhlenberg traditions before graduation day, including a candle-lighting ceremony on the lawn in front of Haas College Center.The Muhlenberg community bid farewell to the Class of 2024 with a series of Senior Day traditions memorializing the graduating class’s unique time on campus. Arriving in the throes of a global pandemic, they steadily built on their resilience and character, leaving a lasting impact on the College.
In the days leading up to the 2024 Commencement on May 19, Muhlenberg seniors had opportunities to reflect on their time at ’Berg and revel in the start of the adventures to come.
Fresh off their last round of undergraduate finals, seniors took to the dance floor to unwind with friends, music and dancing at the Senior Ball.

The traditional interdenominational baccalaureate ceremony brought students together from various faith traditions to honor and bid farewell to the Class of 2024.

Seniors toasted their bright futures and heard from their past selves at the traditional champagne brunch, enjoying food, drinks, fellowship and recognition during this beloved Muhlenberg tradition. Each of the seniors opened a card they had penned to themselves four years prior amidst the uncertainty of a global pandemic.

Hours before the seniors would march across the stage at the PPL Center in Allentown, students gathered on the lawn before Haas College Center for a moving candle-lighting ceremony on a perfect spring evening. The soon-to-be-graduates shared candle flames until each one was aglow in a symbolic ceremony honoring their community as a class and the excitement awaiting them after graduation.
